of my work I use a rigid vehicle fitted with a loading crane which is operated by a hydraulic pump mounted on the vehicle gearbox. Am I allowed to fit an auxiliary tank containing rebated fuel which I could use in the ,forest, returning to the use of ordinary derv. for road operation?
A The official wording on this particular regulation is quite definite and I quote. . "If a vehicle is used on public roads partly for the purposes specified below and partly for other purposes it does not qualify to use rebated oil and all oil used in it must be unrebated."
"The purposes specified below" includes road construction machinery and agricultural equipment, but the fact that you would use your vehicle on the road as well would seem to prohibit the use of rebated fuel.
