Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• No hopper seals, no dust traps and barrier guides, and only four greasing points on the whole body—these features of Eagle Engineering Co.'s new Compressload 3 are an indication of the attention which the makers have paid to ease of maintenance on this new continuous-loading collector.

Eagle says the Compressload 3 (3 tons payload) has been built to meet a demand for a compact and easily maintained collector which will rapidly and without interruption take refuse of all types from shops, paper sacks and household bins.

Use of a 5-ton chassis ensures an economic payload, and enables correct weight distri bution to be achieved; Eagle has adopted tonnage for its designation on the grounds that cubic capacities are misleading.

The loading mechanism comprises two moving barriers actuated by hydraulic rams on top of the body. The bottom barrier plate scoops in the refuse, compressing it against the floor and dragging the crushed refuse up the sloping rear floor. The top barrier plate forces the compressed refuse into the body, an action which breaks up any wooden boxes and cardboard and lacerates paper sacks.

The load is ejected by an ejection barrier; the body does not tip, so site stability is good.
