WITH regard to your leader, "The Great Day," in " your issue dated February 23, I notice that Lord Lucas made a great show of being concerned with what happens to public funds. Perhaps he would be willing to oblige by making this disease infectious, when some of the germs might spread to others amongst his compatriots who deal in commodities such as meat, groundnuts, etc.
I wonder how hard he would kick if his salary were to be taken away, as has happened with many of the hauliers. With the possibility of the Transport (Amendment) Bill becoming law, a lot of politicians in good positions can perhaps visualize work staring them in the face. Here's hoping that the Bill will pass!
