articulated vehicle, am I drawing two trailers and is an attendant therefore necessary?
You do not say what kind of recovery vehicle you operate but if it is classified as a motor car or a heavy motor car it can legally tow only one trailer. However, under Section 65 (4) of the Road Traffic Act 1972 a broken-down artic may be considered as the trailer provided that it is unladen. Thus, an unladen artic vehicle may be recovered with a breakdown vehicle which is a motor car or heavy motor car, and only one trailer is, therefore, being drawn.
