Mr R. A. Chattoek, who has been chairman of the Electric Vehicle Committee since its formation in 1913, and who in that capacity has done much valuable pioneer work in promoting the use of electric vehicles, has been. compelled, owing to the pressure of other work, to resign his position, although he will ,continue to serve as a member of the corritnittee; By a unanimous vote of the committee, the hon. secretary, Mr. F. Ayt,on, was elected chairman for the year ending March 51st, 1920. Mr. Shrapnell-Smith was re-elected vicechairman, and Mr. J. Christie was elected hon. treasurer. Mr. Ayton will continue to hold the position of bon. secretary, to which he was re-elected.
A special committee to investigate the question of the most suitable quality of rubber to employ for solid tyres for electric vehicles has been appointed jointly by the Electric Vehicle Committee and the British Association of Rubber Tyre Manufacturers.
