Scales on the machine show the amount .of imbalance and at what point on the wheel the weight must be added. z•omplementary to the balancer is a hydraulic wheel-lift which permits one man working alone to handle the heaviest wheels on and off the machine.

Hofmann's unit, the ER 1300, reads the imbalance electronically and will accept wheels of I8in. and over. A hoist can be supplied for handling wheels on and off. The machine can also be used for balancing hub units and brake drums.

As its name suggests, it comprises a single unit—from the six-headed machine—its function being to recondition and re-seat injector nozzles.
