3ees Transport, the Lex Nice Group's clothing and ctronics specialist, is using nountable drawbar iipment from Abel mountable, part of United reels' York Trailer group, to eamline trunking and tribution in Scotland. Lt has bought two Scania 2M rigids and Crane iehauf drawbar trailers ed with Gerald Saunders lies and Abel demountable iipment. The bodies are ■ tri box bodies fitted with 'fling wide-slat shutters at rear and a full security CM system. One is driven by an outbased driver stationed at Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, and trunks into the Linwood depot, near Glasgow Airport. The other operates from Forfar in Tayside.
Locally-based 16-tonners are used for deliveries from the Scottish depots. Before this system was introduced, Bees used rigid lorries for local deliveries and for trunking.
It has plans to expand demountable systems in the future using experience gained with the Scanias.
