• Hampshire Bus is the latest National Bus subsidiary to forsake its corporate image. It has a new livery of red, white and blue with a new logo as part of its strategy to prepare for privatisation and deregulation.
Hampshire Bus says it ran 99.91 per cent of all scheduled mileage last year, and points out that all of its bus drivers attend a "charm school".
Thirty per cent of the company's turnover comes from a selection of prepurchased tickets. It is no10; giving away 350,000 discount vouchers exclusively for the use of pre-paid ticket holders Traffic manager David Humphry explained: "The Bu Shopping promotion enables Hampshire Bus to provide an even more value-for-money service for our existing passengers while enabling th( company to attract a wider market in regular pre-paid travel."
