'Insufficient rest' fines

• The Midland General Omnibus Co. Ltd., was accused at Ilkeston, Derbyshire, of 88 offences of allowing drivers to continue work without having had sufficient rest. Forty-five bus drivers were also accused of driving without sufficient rest.
The company was fined £2 on each summons and ordered to pay £21 costs. The drivers were fined £2 on each summons—a total of £176. All had pleaded guilty.
A representative of the company expressed oncern for the offences. He said it could only eve arisen from the desire by the firm and
