Bleasdale, British Railways, during the discussion on Lord Rochdale's paper at the Institute of Transport Congress in Harrogate last-week. Mr. C. A. Dove, general manager of Mersey Docks and Harbour Board, said the weakness of the docks industry was that the return on investment had not been large enough.
Responding, Lord Rochdale said that the industry must not do its thinking in isolation but in conjunction with road, rail and the other channels concerned.
