THE ROAD Haulage Association's Security Committee sets an example to the nation in crime prevention, Home Office Under Secretary Lord Belstead said last week.
Speaking at a 21st anniversary lunch in London, he expressed the Government's gratitude to the committee for its good organisation, good liaison with the police, and the fact that all its help has been given voluntarily.
Encouraging the committee to go on to achieve greater things, Lord Belstead said: "Much crime is opportunist, and can be dealt with by preventive methods."
