THE Road Haulage Association wants the training board for road goods transport to be a completely separate one covering the haulage industry, as it feels that it would be more effective and would provide greater benefits to the industry and employers.
At a meeting with Ministry of Labour officials last month RHA delegates, accompanied by BRS executives, who supported the Association's views, came out strongly in favour of one board for the training of road goods transport employees: they had been asked whether or not they thought there should be separate boards for goods • transport, passenger transport and vehicle repairing.
The RHA had further talks with the Ministry just over a week ago.
