LESLEY SMITH, the winner of the first Lady Trucker of the Year award, has given up the life on the roads with a Doncaster haulage company and is to become a demonstration driver for DAF Trucks.
The 23-year-old pioneer for women in what is a traditionally male business has been representing DAF at shows in Scotland and Amsterdam on a part-time basis since she won her title in Nottingham last year.
