TWO NEW alloy tipper bodies from Star Aluminium, whose Starstock division at West Bromwich designs and manufactures body kits, each increase the payload potential by half a ton over previous models.
Allan Johnston, divisional engineer and transport manager of Powell Duffryn Quarries, has bought three of the new side-pillared M6 models supplied and built by Dynevor Engineering of Neath, which will improve the payload of his 6x4 Leyland Reivers from 16.76 tonnes to 17.27 tonnes_ Owner-driver Eric Davis has similarly experienced better payloads of 11.25 tonnes with his pillarless body fitted to a Dodge 1685 chassis. This has increased his tonnage by an average of five tonnes a day.
