We record with regret the death on October 8, aged 79, of Percy G. Tucker, technical editor of CM from August 1946 to January 1958.
Following service with the RNAS in the First World War, he joined the editorial staff of an associate journal, The Light Car, in the early 1920s. He subsequently had a period in industry with Duckhams and the Vacuum Oil Co before joining Temple Press in the book department in the early 1930s.
During the first part of the Second World War, he was with Muirhead's engaged at fine precision engineering but in 1942 joined the technical staff of CM, being appointed technical editor in August 1946. a post he held (jointly with L J. ("Bill") Cotton from November 1947 to June 1954) until January 1958. He retired in September 1958.
