A new tractor pto guard is to be marketed in Britain and overseas by Lawrence Edwards and Co (Engineers), Called the Uniguard, it will fit all three sizes of shaft manufactured to British and Continental standards.
The guard incorporates nylon bearings {which require no maintenance) and polythene end cones which can be replaced easily if they become damaged.
Four lengths are sold, these measuring 24in. closed/30in.
open, 30in ./42in., 36in./52in. and 42in ./62in . Each kit includes two -snap-on" spacers to build the guard up from size No 1 to No 2 and No 3.
Fitting is said to be simple. Three self-tapping screws are released by half a turn and the cone then slides out by 0.25in. allowing the universal shaft to be fitted into the guard. The cone is then pushed into the locked position and the screws tightened making the guard a permanent fitting.
