A SKED in the Commons last week to r-k introduce legislation to regulate the activities of mobile shops in rural areas, Mr. C. M. Woodhouse, Home Office Under Secretary, replied; " Not in the present session ".
Mr. S. Wingfield Digby (Tory, West Dorset) said that although mobile shops could be useful in rural areas, in some cases they represented unfair competition with village age shops. Mr. Woodhouse replied that many views were held on this difficult and complicated subject. The Home Secretary was carrying out a general review of shops legislation in the light of a questionnaire issued earlier this year to all interested organizations, he added.
