• A comprehensive body design service is being offered by a new organization, Commercial Vehicle Design Services, of 1 Uplands Close, Benfleet, Essex, (tel: South Benfleet 3521). The man behind it is 30-year-old A. A. Hodgkins, former production manager for J. H. Sparshatt and Sons, Portsmouth, and before that an employee of Glover Webb and Liversidge, Duple and RTS Hackney.
The CVDS offers to undertake design and specification jobs—and particularly specialized design work—which operators, bodybuilders and vehicle dealers find time-consuming or beyond their normal scope. This will include original design and the provision of all general and detailed drawings, cutting instruction lists, buying schedules, body weight and axle load calculations and material selection.
