I read with interest the article on cab comfort .{CM May 21) and the letter from Mr E. G. Corke (CM May 28). In my opinion the heavy vehicle of today is noisy and uncomfortable, and will remain so while the engine is in the cab. Surely, if it is possible to build turbines and other fancy equipment, it's about time the engine was moved.
I suppose that provided the vehicle looks pretty at the Commercial Vehicle Show, then it's OK. I did note that vehicle cabs at the Show were locked—that stops any driver comment until they are sold.
