W 35 Bedford vans operated by E. Cookson and Sons, Ltd., Lytham, near Blackpool, to ensure cleanliness in the delivery of unwrapped loaves to retailers in a radius of over 40 miles.
The washbasin is of the hinged type, constructed in aluminium, and is fated on the near-side door of the van adjacent to the mate's seat. Above is a water tank of 1-14-gallon capacity. The basin is used when the door is open and is afterwards hinged back to lie flush with the door, the dirty water being led through a pipe on to the road.
