THE partner to KlocknerH umboldt-Deutz in the construction and sale of commercial vehicles was revealed last week as Fiat.

KHD's chairman told the company's annual meeting that the two companies planned to form a new company in Holland into which would be pooled their lorry and bus making interests.

The new agreement, which will require EEC approval, should result in the formation of the new company in 1975. The company will eventually have a combined turnover of some £775m. K HD will have a share holding of about one-quarter while Fiat will have the remainder.

Under the agreement the companies will pool their resources and technology while still retaining their individual make identity.

Container contract

A CONTRACT to convert and refurbish 14 Blue Star Line and 23 Johnson Line standard 6.15 m (20 ft) dry cargo containers for use as dry: bulk cargo containers has been won by Repcon (UK) Ltd.

The company is carrying out the conversion at its divisional works in Bootle at less than the cost of specially constructed containers.

Volvo spares

Bryant has been appointed director and general manager of Ailsa Trucks Assembly Ltd, which has now been restructured to accommodate additional ausembly activities, including the Ailsa double deck bus.
