• Trailer-maker Southfields has delivered 16 liveried semi-trailers to Bibby Distribution for use on an expanded logistics contract with manufacturing and automotive refinishing spectaftst Tetrosyl.
Of the new 13.55m trailers, nine are stepframe models with fold-up secondary decking, based on tri-axle chasss built to Southfields' specification. The remaining seven are based On straight-frame tri-axle chassis from Krone, with which Southfields has an exclusive UK distribution agreement All 16 fun on BPW axles with air suspension; the Krone models also feature disc brakes.
The bodies on the Krone chassis have a single Easi-Roller sliding sidepost each side, suspended from top tracking, to allow unobstructed access at any point. Stepframe models have central roof supports that are integral with the secondary floor system. Both types feature Southfields' Powermesh side curtains and have cargo control tracks inside the main curtain track.
