AVOTE of confidence in Mr. Marples. This is what last Friday's Government shuffle amounts to. While eminent heads around him were rolling conspicuously, the oft-maligned incumbent at the Transport Ministry stayed put. This was a wise decision, and shows Mr. Macmillan does not share the opinion of some sections of the populace that Mr. Marples has not done a good job. However, having said that, one cannot understand why his considerable energies were not required elsewhere.
