THE new Dunlop factory at Speke is
now ready for production_ It is expected that there will be between 6,000 and 7,000 employees.
Manufacturing operations start with fabric calendering and proceed through tread extruding, component-part production. tyre building, shaping, moulding and vulcanizing, finishing, inspection, and despatch.
The conversion of the 10I-acre site from aircraft production has involved the installation of 5,000 tons of major equipment and 600 tons of electrical plant.
