North-eastern Centre of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers will begin with a meeting on October 8, at the Hotel Metropole, Leeds, at 7 p.m:, when short talks will be given by three .speakers, with questions and discussion to follow. .
Mr. J. Hutchinson, of Stockton-onTees, will speak on "Present and Future Trend of Vehicle Design "; Mr. W. Woodcock, of Sheffield, will take as his subject, "Operators and Their Running Costs "; and Mr. G. L. Lindsay, of Harrogate, will discuss "Passenger Transport Maintenance."
The division will hold monthly meetings throughout the winter.
