IT is believed that the recent agreement on certain outstanding problems in connection with the supply of civilian goods to the U.S.S.R. will prepare the way 'for further discussions on the subject of Anglo-Russian‘rade. The Soviet Government has offered to make available 25,000 standards of timber this season for shipment to Britain, and a contract to this effect will shortly be concluded.
