THE Secretary for Mines, Mr. Grenfell, answering a Parliamentary question from Mr. T. Smith, said, last week, that -the time when coal would have to be rationed was not yet near and he hoped rationing would not be necessary at all. Production had been rising steadily during the past few, weeks, but the " target " figure had not yet been reached, which 'fact he ascribed to inadequate transport.
