if this is only taking a trailer to the docks, I have to observe the EEC driving hours regulations, but I am told that I must observe these regulations for seven days afterwards even if I am driving on purely internal UK journeys. Is this so ?
Yes, that is so, though such drivers, on UK work, of artic units over 20 metric tons gross weight are not restricted to 450km (281 miles) driving as well as having an hours limit. They can also drive for 60 hours in previous seven days against the 48 hours in seven days or 92 hours in 14 days for the international journey.
