" OUR membership is at a lament
ably low figure, considering the small cost," said Mr. T. Cordery, relief secretary of the London Centre of the Motor and Cycle Trades Benevolent Fund, at the annual meeting last week.
National relief expenditure in 1953 reached a new high sum of £31,152, compared with £28,049 in 1952. The centre had 95 cases in hand, entailing an expenditure during 1953 of £7,485.
Centre officers are:--chairman, Mrs. D. Clark; vice-chairman, Mr. C. P. Hartrey, advertisement manager of The Commercial Motor; secretary, Miss M. Butcher; deputy secretary, Mr. D. Petrie; and relief secretary, Mr. Cordery.
