AT Hamilton Sheriff Court, two charges of driving and using a lorry as a contract carriage, without a public service vehicle licence, were brought against Mr. John Nimmo, 331, High Street, Newarthill. It was stated that he had conveyed a considerable number of persons and camping equipment on his lorry.
The Fiscal, Mr. J. C. Patterson, said that, a vehicle became a contract carriage when more 'than eight persons were carried. The defendant had received g2 5s., which, it was,elaimed, was charged by him for carrying the
equipment of the campers. Sheriff. McDonald imposed a fine of Li on each charge.
