• At a conference in Dunmurry, Belfast, on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, hauliers and managers were invited to put their views on the needs and means for improving the management of professional road transport in Northern Ireland.
Mr. R. F. Block, consultant, put forward management techniques of value to hauliers, while Mr. W. C. Hurst, senior training development officer of the Industrial Training Service in Northern Ireland, outlined the ways in which training processes might be consolidated and spread throughout the industry.
The conference, entitled "Managing for profit" opened on Tuesday evening with an address by Mr. K. C. Turner, chairman of the RTITB in Great Britain.
