DRIVERS working in the building industry will get an extra £1.50 a night subsistence allowance to bring them in line with other drivers.
The award follows an interim award that took them from E3.75 a night to £4 a night. Now they are to be paid £5.50 a night.
Transport and General Workers Union building group secretary George Henderson commented: "We were solidly behind this claim for equal treatment for the drivers independently of which industry employs them — and we've won it."
