• Interest in the KL auxiliary water pump introduced in 1985 for bus engines — not just for curing cold-blowing heaters but also for reducing undue engine wear — prompted KL Automotive Products to update the design, while retaining the list price of £109.
The improved pump can be retrofitted in the coolant circuit. It boosts the coolant flow from the engine, helping to even out temperature fluctuations.
The pump head now has integrally cast mounting flanges to ensure a watertight fit; the housing is made of brass.
The pump head is linked to a heavier-duty electric motor, which has a guaranteed performance of 20,000 hours.
