NUMBER of 1,200-cu.-ft. longdistance meat-transport vans incorrating Thermo King refrigeration iipment is being supplied to Moto Import. Ltd., 2-8 Parfitt Road, London, J. H. Sparshatt and Sons, Ltd., ndon Road, Portsmouth, who are ilding the bodies on Leyland Octopus issis, claim that they are the largest of rjr kind with Thermo King refrigeration the country.
Designed to reduce the interior ternrature to —5° F.. the equipment in ictice attained —20° F. without diffiIty. The 24-ft.-long body was conacted by the Sparshatt stressed-skin rthocl which is stated to yield high rrmal efficiency, and produces an erior devoid of minor projections. The floor is of Fin. light alloy Argonarc welded into a single waterproof tray. The insulation medium is a 5-in, layer of vapour-proofed expanded polystyrene. A petrol engine powers the Thermo King M.20 unit, which may also he connected to mains electricity supply.
