PAA FTER a number of transport contractors engaged in the carriage of films had recommended an increase in rates. Mr. D. C. Walls, of Manchester, a past-president of the Cinematograph Exhibitors' Association, sent a letter to branches of that body on the question.
" I am surprised," he stated, "that a group of private-enterprise contractors should so prejudice their position when road transport is being so generally nationalized. If anything is calculated to invite us to use the nationalized road transport for the haulage di films, this is it." •
