Mr. Greaves, who joined Manchester from the Wales Gas Board, had been chief accountant since 1958. Albert E. Chandler, a BR driver at Liverpool Brunswick station, is one of only two drivers to qualify for RoSPA's national safe driving 40-year trophy for 1967. The other man is William Goodwin, who is employed by a firm of London newspaper distributors.

R. J. Cattle has been appointed a director of Brico Engineering Ltd, a member of the Associated Engineering Group, Mr. Cattle will have special responsibility for management services.

A. G. White, chairman and managing director of Henlys Ltd., has been appointed chairman of Stewart and Ardern Ltd., E. R. S. Watkins having relinquished the Stewart and Ardern chairmanship at his own request. G. R. Chandler and D. L. Chandler, both directors of Henlys, have been appointed additional directors of Stewart and Ardern. Arthur Dickinson has been appointed a field marketing manager by Highway Trailers (Great Britain) Ltd., Mr. Dickinson, who has been a marketing executive for Highway for the past two years, will be based at the company's London office. Richard Perkins, deputy managing director of the Perkins Engines Group and general manager of its North European Operations Unit, is on an eight-day visit to the Soviet Union to continue negotiations for the increased sale of British-made Perkins diesel engines to Russia. The trip is being made at the invitation of I. Petrov, president of V/0 Avtoexport of Moscow. Mr. Perkins is accompanied by B. A. Gomm, general sales manager North European Operations, and John Pitchford, vehicle sales manager North European Operations.

L. A. West (West's Coaches. Woodford) has been re-elected chairman of the London and Home Counties area of the PV0A, and H. D. Welch (A. Timpson and Sons Ltd., Catford) re-elected vice-chairman. They were both also nominated as area representatives to serve on the national council, together with J. M. Birch (Birch Bros. Ltd., Kentish Town); A. S. Blackboum (Norfolk Motor Services Ltd., Gt. Yarmouth); F. W. Harris (Harris Coaches Ltd., Grays): W. J. E, Lacey (Lacey's Ltd., East Ham);

E. A. Lainson (Premier Travel Ltd., Cambridge); F. J. Speight (George Ewer and Co. Ltd.. Stamford Hill): F. A. York (York Bros. Ltd., Northampton). Mr, Birch has been unanimously re-elected as area representative to the national executive and finance committee.

Alan Hine, 42, has been appointed to lead the British Safety Council's safety training division. Mr. Hine was safety training officer at RoSPA for three years.

G. M. Newberry, has been appointed to the boards of the Northern General Transport Co. Ltd. and its five subsidiaries, the Gateshead and District, Tyneside Omnibus, Sunderland District, Tynemouth and District and Wakefield's Motors companies. He replaces, in each case, T. V. Woods, who has resigned.
