BODIES DY using a light-alloy cab and body,
the unladen weight of the Bristol eight-wheeler has been reduced to below 7 tons, affording a maximum payload capacity of, just over 15 tons. in comparison with the standard cab and flat hardwood body, with headboard. the light-alloy units have saved 13 cwt. in unladen weight. The Bristol platform body is 24 ft. 7 in long and 7 ft. 4* in. wide.
Experiments in the use of light-alloy cabs and bodies are also being made by British Road Services on other types of vehicle, and will be made standard for all the B.R.S. eight-wheelers having platform or drop-sided bodies.
