NAANY compliments were paid to In Sheffield United Tours, Ltd., by Press and newsreel representatives for the efficiency with which "Gay Consort," an A.E.C. coach, carried out its task in connection with the MonteCarlo car rally.
Northern cornpetitors' luggage was loaded at Sheffield and that of southern entrants at London air terminal. The load weighed 14 tons and the rear axle was 2;7 tons overloaded. The vehicle had a direct run from the French Channel port to Monte-Carlo and at the end of the 700-mile run arrived 24 hours before the eompetitors. I he 192 pieces of luggage were then delivered to the hotels.
The coach also carried eight Press representatives and provided refreshment and other facilities at the finishing line for competitors and officials.
