mAy 1, a motorist, appeal through the medium of your IVA journal to bus operators to fit direction indicators to their vehicles and, what is more important, encourage drivers to use them. A set of four flashing-light indicators, now made legal, would be ideal for a large vehicle of this type, and certainly the signals could most easily be seen. Following closely behind a bus, one cannot see the driver's hand signals or the semaphore indicator. Even so, my chief bon: of contention is that bus drivers rarely seem to use their electric indicators, even when they are fitted.
Another thing I dislike is when a bus driver approaches a stop and, because there is a vehicle parked a little ahead of him, pulls up after swinging the front of his bus away from the kerb. This disconcerts following drivers.
