THE latest artidulated outfit (seer above) produced for Sutton and Sor (St. Helens) Ltd. includes the 'first of an order for '12 Dyson semi-trailers, which are themselves the first 34-footers built by Dyson under the amended C. and U. regulations. Designed tooperate as part of a 30-tons-gross outfit, the trailer has
three-line triple-diaphragm braking through 151 in. by 7 in. S-cam assemblies, The suspension is the standard Dyson Aeroride whose completely non-reactive characteristic allbws maxinium benefit to be derived from the braking system and is said to give long life to the 10-00-20, 16-ply tyres.
The trailer's unladen weight is only 4 tons 7.5 cwt. eventhough it has oversize tyres, a dual-position king-pin arrangement, is 34 ft. by 8 ft. 21 in. overall and has landing gear, a headboard, and a spare wheel carried on a winchtype carrier.
