SPEAKING at Colchester recently, Mr. G. R. Strauss, Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Transport, alleged. that road passenger services were in a state of crisis, apparently caused by the existence of company and municipal undertakings. To cure this supposed 11, road passenger transport was to be nationalized, although the Government was not sure of the best form of organization to adopt. Mr. Strauss admitted that the socialization of road passenger services presented the Government with a very tricky problem."
