l'HE Traders Road Transport Associa1 lion conference at the Grand Hotel, Eastbourne, in April, will have business sessions built around three papers, a symposium and a brains trust, On Aril 21 the presidential address will be followed by a paper and discussion on "Plating, testing, brakes, type approval and maintenance of goods vehicles ", the author of the paper having not yet been decided. On the afternoon of the same day there will be a symposium on the training and education of transport executives by a panel comprising Mr. D. E. A. Pettit, chairman of SPD Ltd., Mr. R. E. G. Brown, secretary of TRTA's London and Home Counties Division, and one other sneaker.
Next on the business agenda is a paper and discussion on "The use of computers in relation to transport and distribution" by Mr. F. R. L. Wentworth, group distribution c ontr o 11er of
Schweppes Ltd., and Mr. F. F. Land, southern, marketing manager, English Electric-Leo-Marconi. On the Thursday evening there will be a civic reception for delegates.
Friday, April 22 will open with another paper and discussion: "Transport policy, with particular reference to co-ordination of transport" by Sir Reginald Wilson, deputy chairman and managing director of the Transport Holding Company.
On the same day a brains trust will answer questions on all aspects of road transport. Its members will be Mr. H. R. Featherstone, TRTA national secretary, Mr. R.. Madge, head of road transport division, Ministry of Transport, Mr. G. F. Page, transport manager, L Lyons and Co. Ltd., and Mr. Philip Edwards, editor of Motor Transport.
The president's closing address will be followed on Friday evening by the conference banquet.
