CCORD1NG to Board of Trade rifigures, the value of commercial vehicles, chassis, cars and accessories imported during February was 2375,510, which is not very much below the figure of 2387,567 for February, 1938. There was a general fall in the exports of commercial vehicles, the largest decrease being in the figures for foreign countries, 54 vehicles, valued at 210,127, being exported in February last, compared with 156, valued at 263,290, in February, 1938.
The exports of commercial chassis also again showed a large decrease in value, as well as in number, and the biggest declines were in respect of tne figures for South Africa, Australia and other British countries, but, on the other hand, there was a substantial increase in the total for British India. In February last the total was 902, the value of the chassis being 2175,164, whereas in February, 1938, the figures were 1,046 and 2204,882, respectively.
