commercial vehicles has been started by Inrad — a consortium of independent radiator makers and repairers.
The scheme will operate along the lines of a credit card with vouchers kept in the cab of the vehicle, along with a list of Inrad agents who can be contacted in the event of an emergency.
When the repair or replacement is complete, the voucher is presented and a bill goes to the owners at a later date.
Inrad claim that the scheme will save British indsutry thousands of pounds in transport costs by allowing the vehicle to be kept on the road. This avoids down time that might be caused by radiator trouble.
Inrad marketing director Mr Graham Hateley said last week that most repairs are carried out within hours. The scheme has received the AA seal of approval.
Companies wishing to join should write to Inrad's head office at Shakespeare Buildings, Coventry Road, Birmingham.
