FOUR British foam tenders for e\linguishing lire outbreaks at an airfield and an oil refinery have been delivreti to the Hungarian Fire' Service. 1 hey utilize fire-fighting equipment manufactured by The Pyrene Co., Ltd., mounted on Thornycroft 4 x 4 chassis, and arc powered by Rolls-Royce B81 eight cylinder petrol engines. The Pyrene foam-making branchpipe equipment built into each of these tenders is capable of delivering up to 6,400 'gal. of foam per minute and the maximum foam compound carrying capacity is 550 imp. gal. As these vehicles will have to traverse rough ground at high' speed, the construction of the crew compartment and bodywork generally has been kept as light as possible, but still providing a high standard of crew comfort. The flexibly mounted cab provides seating accommodation for the crew and can carry up to seven people, including 111,i driver. The design, construction and finishing of the coachwork was carried out in the Pyrene works.
