A PROFIT of £332,000 before taxation
' was made by the manufacturing subsidiaries of the Transport Holding Company in 1965.
Mr. John Morris, who gave this figure in the Commons last week, said that it compared with 1256,000 in 1964 and £15,000 in 1963. He added that the .output for the corresponding years had been worth £5,448,000, £5,397,000 and £5,074,000.
In reply to another question from Tory transport spokesman Mr. Peter Walker, the Parliamentary Secretary said that the Eastern Coach Works Ltd. had produced 682 bus bodies in 1963, 684 in 1964 and 687 in 1965.
British Commercial Vehicles Ltd. had produced 630 chassis in 1963, of which 160 were equipped with Bristol engines, 757 (with 209 Bristol engines) in 1964 and 732 (184) in 1965.
