A LTHOUGH there was to be no Afr-‘ general increase in fares throughout Scotland, the company desired to even out fares and eliminate anomalies. said a representative of the Scottish Motor Tracti.ln Co., Ltd., at a resent sitting of the Scottish Licensing Authority. The company made a number of applications, all of which were granted, to alter fares-on certain routes.
One of the services concerned is that between Edinburgh and Hillend, on the Dumfries route recently taken over from the Caledonian Omnibus Co. Ltd. It was stated that for some reason the protection fares of Id. given to the Edinburgh Corporation undertaking were not being observed, and the revised table would bring the fares into line with those of other S.M.T. services on this route.
