A RESOLUTION urging the Minister L"A of Transport to remove the 30 m.p.h.. speed limit from vans of up to 1 ton carrying capacity will be considered by the National Chamber of Trade at their autumn conference at Leamington Spa next Monday and Tuesday. It claims that the restriction is now unnecessary.
The conference will also discuss two resolutions on traffic regulations. One suggests that "no waiting" regulations which have been extended to restrict loading and unloading should be relaxed for a limited period outside rush hours.
The other says that the extension of "no waiting" regulations has an adverse effect on trade, especially on Saturdays, and the resolution calls on the Minister to reconsider the position.
