FOLLOW1NG the grant of an A licence varia
tion to J. A. Pickthall and Sons, of Cleator Moor, by the Northern Licensing Authority, Mr. J. A. T. Hanlon, racing pigeons which in the past have travelled by rail to their "flying starts" will now travel by road.
The grant will allow Pickthall and Sons to carry pigeons for the West Cumberland Federation. British Railways withdrew their original objection.
