ONE-MAN buses are to be introduced next month on 01le of Sunderland Transport Department's services. Modifications, including the provision of power-operated doors, arc ntaw being made to the vehicles used on
the -route. .
This was disclosed by the general manager, Mr.H. Morton, after an application for permission to introduce a 2d. mininium fare on the service was granted by the Northern Licensing Authority. The corporation felt that the innovation was "a fresh approach lathe problem of a losing service during a period of rising costs."
